Risk Disclosure Summary
Ekala Tours and Safaris
Important risk, suitability and participation notes for Ekala private tours, safaris, transfers, mining tours and guest accommodation.
Why this page matters
This Risk Disclosure Summary is intended to make important risks and suitability issues clear before a booking is confirmed. It does not list every possible risk, but highlights the main issues guests, agents and group organisers must consider.
Guests should ask questions before booking if any risk, physical requirement, medical issue or practical limitation is unclear.
Road and walking risks
Ekala tours involve travel on public roads, rural roads and sometimes gravel, uneven or potholed roads. Vehicles may have to brake suddenly or take evasive action. Seat belts must be worn where provided.
Many tours involve walking, standing, steps, uneven ground, outdoor heat, rain, wind or cold. Guests must advise Ekala before booking of any mobility, balance, breathing, heart, medical or stamina concerns.
Wildlife and safari environments
Wild animals are unpredictable. Guests must remain in vehicles or designated safe areas when instructed. Open safari vehicles may not have safety belts and guests must remain seated except where specifically permitted at a stationary sighting or safe stop.
No wildlife sighting can be guaranteed. Weather, animal movement, park rules, road conditions and safety instructions determine what is possible on the day.
Underground mine suitability
Underground environments can be humid, industrial, confined, uneven, wet and physically demanding. Footing can be loose. Good walking shoes are essential. Mine evacuation during a power failure may involve stairs, delay or other physical demands.
Guests with high or low blood pressure, heart conditions, asthma, breathing impairment, walking impairment, pregnancy, recent major surgery, severe visual impairment, claustrophobia or any serious concern should remain on the surface unless the suitability has been fully discussed and accepted before booking.
It is not suitable to plan a same-day flight after an underground tour. Delays or evacuation constraints could affect timing.
Disclosure before booking
Guests must disclose relevant medical conditions, physical limitations, allergies, dietary needs, impairments, special requirements and any concern that could affect participation or Ekala’s ability to supply the tour safely and properly.
Where a guest chooses not to disclose relevant information, Ekala may not be able to adapt the tour and may refuse participation if safety is compromised.
During the tour or stay
Guests must follow lawful safety instructions given by Ekala guides, drivers, venue staff, safari guides, mine personnel or other authorised persons. Unsafe behaviour, intoxication, abusive conduct or refusal to follow safety instructions may result in removal without refund where safety is compromised.
Parents and guardians remain responsible for children at all times.
